Actress Jacklyn Zeman, who portrayed Bobbie Spencer on “General Hospital,” passes away at the age of 70 : Report

Jacklyn Zeman, an actress best remembered for her decades-long portrayal as Bobbie Spencer on the classic ABC soap opera “General Hospital,” passed away on Wednesday from unspecified circumstances. She was 70 years old.

Executive producer of “General Hospital” Frank Valentini announced the information Wednesday night.

“On behalf of our @GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved @JackieZeman. Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” Valentini wrote.

Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey,’ he continued.

Zemen, a five-time Daytime Emmy nominee, initially appeared on “General Hospital” in 1977, shortly before the success of the “Luke and Laura” plotline in 1979 marked the beginning of the program’s most enduring era. After working on the program until 2010, she returned in 2013 and continued until her passing.
