Conor McGregor Vs. Roman Reigns In WWE: Eric Bischoff Opinions

Crossover potential has been a topic of discussion ever before WWE and UFC merged in April. Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion, is a master at trash talking, so why not pit him against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania next year? After all, Logan Paul had a chance to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel in November. Eric Bischoff, however, is not entirely of that opinion.

“I can’t see that, I just can’t,” he said on “83 Weeks.” “I can certainly see Conor McGregor in WWE. That’s very easy to visualize.”

So what distinguishes McGregor from Bad Bunny, who recently engaged in a Street Fight at WWE Backlash with Damian Priest. Or him and Paul, who have faced celebrated champions The Miz, Reigns, and most recently Seth Rollins in their three singles battles with the organization? Not with Roman Reigns, said Bischoff. Reigns said, “It’s not believable,” implying that he could pick him up, put him in his pocket, and take him on a stroll. “The size difference would just dramatically remove me from it.”

Bischoff doesn’t discount McGregor’s fighting skills; he simply doesn’t believe they would translate well to a wrestling ring. Later, he said, “Do you really think WWE would, for lack of a better term, prostitute Roman Reigns and a championship for an attraction match?” Fans may once more bring up Paul’s duel with The Tribal Chief at Crown Jewel from the previous year. Bischoff thinks it would take that much dedication—and then some—to make it credible.

“Unless Conor were to really learn how to wrestle so that he could go in there and have a — not just an acceptable match, but a great match with Roman,” he said, “I think the audience will just gag all over it.”
