Plastic And Fantastic: The soundtrack for the Barbie movie has just been released

Barbie’s star-studded soundtrack has just been made public ahead of the film’s July 21st release. Even Ryan Gosling contributes his La La Land-honed vocals to the pop princess-filled roster that Mark Ronson executively produced.

Greta Gerwig’s highly-anticipated new film recruits pop big shots Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and Ice Spice.

“Pink” by none other than Lizzo and “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, one of our most recent Notion Now choices, open “Barbie: The Album.” Queens Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice collaborate on a revamped rendition of Aqua’s “Barbie World” in this song. Along with Charli XCX, PinkPantheress, and Ava Max, fan favorites Haim and Tame Impala complete the pop-heavy line-up.

Momentum has been growing over on TikTok with just under two months till the fantasy movie’s debut (yep, we’re counting down the days). Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s visage have become a regular on the FYP due to trailer cuts and new trends that have flooded the app. The internet has suddenly been electrified with anticipation for Barbie as Ken appears to be the “no-thoughts, head-empty hero” we were looking for.

Barbie is followed in the movie as she leaves Barbieland and sets out into the real world. They try to discover genuine happiness in a naive, imperfect world, with Ken clinging to her like a lost dog. According to Vogue, the plot is partially based on the 1994 book Reviving Ophelia, which describes a young woman’s journey through puberty.

It’s the movie everyone is talking about right now, with a stellar ensemble that includes America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, and Dame Helen Mirren. For the time being, excited Barbie fans may pause the previews and move on to the track listing below to listen to Dua Lipa’s first single, “Dance the Night”. Let’s go out and party until the big day.
